Erik Friedman, a Berkeley native, received a B.F.A. from Parson’s School of Design in 1990 and an M.F.A. from San Jose State University in 1998.
He received First Place awards in juried exhibitions at A Street Gallery in Santa Rosa in 2003 in the City of Brea’s Juried Show in 2004. He was awarded the Juror’s Award at BACA 2000 at the Berkeley Art Center and the New Visions Award at New Visions 1999 at Pro Arts Gallery in Oakland.
He has shown his work widely throughout the Bay Area and California and has participated in multiple art fairs throughout the country. Erik currently resides in Oakland.
Erik’s past shows at Swarm have included Things are Expanding (2010), Sum of its Parts (2008), The Little Show (2007), Critical Chaos (2007), and Storm (2006).
