Helen’s work is a series of ‘after images’. Tactile, physical, direct remnants of a place / space, time or thing and drawing forms the basis for her art practise, existing between all disciplines. She also uses a diversity of, often experimental, processes and materials. These include turning a car into a pinhole camera, photograms of the interior of a piano and covering stones from around the world in felt – all reflect the two recurring themes in her work; light and touch. Her work is also subtly autobiographical, often reflecting sub consciously things that have happened to her.

Helen graduated from Camberwell in 2004 with an MA distinction in drawing, previously she was at Goldsmiths from where she graduated in fine art with a first. She has exhibited widely in London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Surrey, was shortlisted for New Contemporaries in 1999 and has extensive art teaching and tutoring experience at various London schools and colleges.
